Seasonal Influenza Vaccination (SIV) - School Outreach
Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent seasonal influenza and its complications. Participate in the School-based Influenza Vaccination Subsidy Scheme to provide free vaccination services at schools for all eligible students. There are two main modes under the Department of Health:
Program Modes
Government-provided Vaccine Mode
Formerly 'Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach (Free) Programme'
Target participants: Students of secondary schools, primary schools, kindergartens, and child care centres.
Delivery: Vaccines are delivered by the Department of Health's outsourced fleet.
Doctor-provided Vaccine Mode
Formerly 'Vaccination Subsidy (Additional Fees Allowed) School Outreach'
Target participants: The target participants of this programme are all subsidized persons from primary schools, secondary schools, kindergartens, kindergarten-cum-child care centres, and child care centres, including:
- Pregnant women
- Persons aged 50 years or above (count by year of birth)
- Children and adolescents aged 6 months to under 18 years (or secondary school students in Hong Kong) (count by date of birth)
- Persons with intellectual disability
- Persons receiving disability allowance
- Recipients of Standard Rate of “100% Disabled” or “Requiring Constant Attendance” under Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA)
Delivery: Vaccines are delivered directly by the medical team on the day of vaccination.
